Word that Tony Blair, 56 next month, was expecting to become a father for the fifth time seemed rather improbable.

Happily, it turns out to be his 35-year-old imitator, Welshman Ioan Gruffudd - he played the former Prime Minister in Oliver Stone's W - who is celebrating the good news.

Gruffudd's pretty wife Alice Evans, 37, is pregnant with their first child. The couple, who met on the film set of 102 Dalmatians and married 18 months ago, were keen to start a family.

'They are delighted with the news and very excited about becoming parents,' says a chum.

Ioan Gruffudd: There's some fantastic news for the Fantastic Four star. Gruffudd and his wife, Alice Evans, are currently awaiting the birth of their first child. The two actors have been married since 2007.
