Lovely evening at the Ivy Club with friend. Sitting immediately opposite Ioan Gruffudd who is much better looking than his name.

While searching for IoLice article, I found two interesting ones. :)

It seems like the couple is constantly invited to his birthday party. :) They "met pretty recently", though.

Piers Morgan turns 43 and texts Naomi over her Heathrow tantrum | Mail Online

"I celebrated with a small dinner party at Robert De Niro's restaurant, Ago in Beverly Hills, with 12 guests including Welsh movie star Ioan Gruffudd and, of course, Simon Cowell"

The Insider: [...] | Mail Online "SUNDAY, APRIL 5

My 44th-birthday dinner party at Cecconi's, the hippest new nightspot in LA. It was the usual small, sober affair - 22 guests, mainly Brits, and most of those hardcore party animals.

They included movie stars Ioan Gruffudd and his wife Alice Evans (she's in Lost at the moment),[...]"

And now the yummiest one. For those who see the "conflict", of course. :)

Piers Morgan's LA diary | Mail Online
" TUESDAY, August 7

'Ioan Gruffudd wonders if you'd like to have dinner with him,' emailed a mutual friend.

I've never met Ioan but a quick Google check revealed a familiar pattern to his work.

He played the heroic Fifth Officer Harold Lowe in Titanic, the heroic Horatio Hornblower in Hornblower, the heroic Lancelot in King Arthur, the heroic Reed Richards in Fantastic Four, and most recently the heroic slavery abolitionist William Wilberforce in Amazing Grace.

As we sipped champagne in the beautiful garden patio of the Four Seasons hotel, I told him, 'I can quite see why you wanted to have dinner with me ? our professional images have so much in common.'

It turned out that he'd just read my latest book, Don't You Know Who I Am?, and was curious to discover if I was 'really that disgraceful.'

I pleaded guilty, and we settled into a wonderfully entertaining evening with a small group including his close Welsh acting mate Matthew Rhys, Ioan's actress wife Alice Evans and American Idol star Ryan Seacrest.

Ioan is, I regret to say, completely unspoiled by fame and fortune, and scornful of his fellow movie stars who whine about their terrible lives.

'I'm a very lucky guy,' he said at one point, 'and if the worst that happens to me is the occasional paparazzi picture then big deal.'"
