Fox Will Reboot Fantastic Four | /Film

Variety reports that a screenwriter has been hired to reboot the franchise: Michael Green, a producer/writer for Smallville, Everwood and Heroes (ugh…) who co-wrote the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Green Lantern. No other details are known at this time, as Fox has not commented about its plans. But one would assume that the creative talent (and I use that term loosely) from the original 2005 film and the 2007 sequel, will not be a part of this new attempt. And that includes director Tim Story and stars Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis.

So it's no surprise Ioan Gruffudd and his wife, Alice Evans, whose baby is
due in September, have been splashing the cash in A Pea in the Pod – a
favourite Beverly Hills haunt for celebrity mothers-to-be.

Gruffudd, originally from Llwydcoed, Aberdare, met Ms Evans, 37, in 2002
while filming 102 Dalmatians. They wed in Mexico in 2007 and announced they
were expecting their first child earlier this year.

Gruffudd revealed last month he already knew the sex of their baby, and said
he could not wait to become a father.

The 35-year-old said he'd been working “very hard” to keep his wife of two
years happy during the pregnancy, and added: “It's been one long summer, and
I've basically been the best husband in the world – or trying to be!”

Those good intentions were evident when pictures yesterday showed the couple
shopping at A Pea in the Pod just four days after attending the launch of
Nicole Richie's new and exclusive maternity line for the department store,
which has also provided maternity wear for stars including actresses Sarah
Michelle Gellar, Parminder Nagra and Marley Shelton.
